Evergreen and Hanjin Shipping are adding a new FE-North Europe loop this
week despite increasing signs of weak trade demand. The two carriers’ will
jointly operate the new CEM/CUS service with nine ships of 8,450-10,100 teu,
adding about 9,160 teu weekly on the route.
It will become increasingly difficult for carriers to push
through with further rate increases in the absence of capacity reduction.
