SHIPMENTS TO/FROM RUSSIA AND BELARUS

All cargoes to/from Russia and Belarus shipped by TK’s pax and freighter aircrafts are subject to the below rules and are “effective immediately”.

1) Goods such as (but not limited to) weapons, munitions, military equipment, explosives, all dangerous goods, electronics, computers, spare parts, aircraft parts, dual-use goods, valuable cargoes, high-tech products, aviation and space products are prohibited to be shipped (Some example SHC codes: SWP, MUW, VAL, VUN, DG, AVI).
2) Goods categorized with codes like PER, EAT and PIL (e.g. medicine, health and medical products, perishables, food) can be shipped only if the attached commitment letter is provided and confirmation is provided that the shipper and consignee, as well as the goods, are not on the sanction list.
3) Goods not mentioned in the above two provisions can be shipped only if an export license and commitment letter is given by the customer. In addition, a confirmation must be provided that the shipper and consignee, as well as the goods, are not on the sanction list.
4) Sanctioned personas, corporations and goods can be screened at https://sanctionssearch.ofac.treas.gov/ . More details can also be found at following websites;

5) Goods should not defined as ‘general cargo’ or ‘consolidated’ on ‘nature of goods’ section of AWB. The name of goods on AWB and invoice should be the same.
6) All documents of cargoes that are free of sanctions should also be checked.
7) The Customer should provide a commitment letter stating that it complies with US sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus, and accepts that it will be responsible for any discrepancy.
8) Only TK staff in origin country is authorized to make booking for cargoes shipped to/from Russia and Belarus. Thus, all booking requests must be submitted to TK staff.
9) Bookings by phone, online or any other way are not allowed as they are accepted only via e-mail. Commitment letter and other documents should be provided together with email.
10) GHA staff should check compliance of cargo and documents. If there is any discrepancy the cargo must be rejected.
11) Customers are expected to be aware of the sanctions. Turkish Airlines does not accept any responsibility for punitive results.
