EFP Ecologically Friendly port is mainly financed by South-East Finland-Russia ENPI CBC Programme. Lead partner is Russian Hydrometeorological University in St. Petersburg. Project partners are Centre for Maritime Studies Turku University, Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences and Ust-Luga Company JSC. Associated partners are port of HaminaKotka, City of Kotka, Finnish Port Association and Administration of Leningrad Region Committee on Natural Resources.
Project targets to improve the environmental issues in port of Ust-Luga and it's neighbouring area and to develop the energy efficiency and decrease noise and other emissions of both ports of HaminaKotka and Ust-Luga.
The project consists of the following work packages:
WP1 Analyzing the environmental status and developing compensatory measures
WP2 Environmental monitoring and regulation
WP3 Co-operation with stakeholders in the port area
WP4 Port in a City (North European Logistics Institute)
Project manager of KUAS is Anni Anttila. Kira Lopperi is responsible for NELI's work package.
Project has started on 1.12.2012 and will end on 30.11.2014.
