Ночью 21 марта на борту контейнеровоза компании Hyundai Merchant Marine "Hyundai Fortune" (1996г. постройки вместимостью 5 500 TEU) в кормовом отсеке произошел взрыв, а затем возник пожар. Порядка 50-60 контейнеров выбросило за борт.

На место происшествия был отправлен голландский военный фрегат, катера и вертолет, которые взяли на борт 27 членов экипажа судна.

Судно направлялось в Роттердам из Кореи. Инцидент произошел в Аденском заливе.

По последним данным Tradewinds, судно затонуло в 130 морских милях от г.Адена.



On 21st March, whilst approximately 120 miles east of Aden, 60 miles offshore, container vessel Hy. Fortune V.333W with 5,551 teu reported a fire in the stern. It is a massive fire behind the accommodation block with substantial damage (expected total loss) to an estimated 500+ containers, many of which are currently on fire and drifting around the vessel. Hundreds remain on fire on board and major explosions continue as further containers catch alight.

1. G.A has not been declared yet, although HMM is still under reviewing, REPEAT, NOT DECLARED YET.

2. Small fire still can be found on the vessel.

3. HMM has not identified the degree of hull damages and container damage yet.
